Weekly
newsletter time again guys. I have decals in hand from this last
round and we'll be packaging them up as soon as the instruction
sheets show up. Links will go hot on the 25th! You can see all of
the artwork on the site in the New Release section. Take a peek!
New
Hot Babe of the Week is up for your viewing pleasure. CAG jet along
with a couple of images of the CO jet from VFA-146. The guys up at
Lemoore have lots of cool stuff cooking and you'll see those in
decal form here in the coming weeks.
Arctic
Bandit instruction sheet images for you guys. Looks like the 1st of
May is when we'll have those ready to go! There might be a little
bonus included in this product. I'm still working on that now so
we'll see. Little extra not hobby related but definitely aircraft
related! More to come!
We'll probably have two more releases
before the Nats roll around with the second set of sheets debuting
at the convention. I'm still kicking around two different options as
far as "themes" go. Either way, all the sheets will be released.
We're just looking at what the overall theme will be for the
convention releases.
Speaking of the Nats, lots of planning
is being done over here getting ready for our trip to Virginia
Beach. Twomikes will obviously be there at our booth along with some
other folks/products that have all piled on the Twobobs train to be
a part of this annual event. The hospitality suite is obviously
going to happen and we've been working on those arrangements for a
little while. More beer, less food is the name of the game this
time!
We get lots of E-mails over here at Twobobs from folks
asking for donations and such for their shows and also to help out
youth organizations. We always honor every request and along those
lines, I have a couple of instances of guys "helping out" to tell
you about.
As some of you know, my wife Teri is a Programs
Director at the Youth Center here at Edwards AFB. Through her job
she met an active duty AF guy by the name of TSgt Tony Accurso. Tony
works over at South Base on the Airborne Laser Program and is a
modeler. He's a member of the Antelope Valley Group as well.
Tony wanted to start a modeling club over there at the Youth
Center and of course, Teri obliged. Donation requests went out to
various manufacturers and more than a few responded with free models
for the kids including the members of Antelope Valley Group. We here
at Twobobs donated Xtracrylics paint, decals and other supplies to
help out as well. Tony brought some guys over from the squadron to
help get the room ready (paint, tables, etc.) and right after Spring
Break, they started cranking on models! Nine kids signed up straight
away and they now have a pretty sizeable waiting list to get in.
Good on ya Tony! Way to get the kids of the Play Station!
So
the trick is to keep these guys donating and helping out. hopefully
Tony and the Youth Center can keep the models coming in. You know
how kids are, they build these things up pretty quick so they won't
last long. Picture below.
I got another
E-mail just today from a guy at Eielson by the name of Stu Sibitzky.
Stu's wife is a teacher on base at Eielson and Stu has a model
display that he maintains for the little guys out there. With the
pending release of our Arctic Bandits sheet, Stu plans on refreshing
his display and adding a couple of those jets to what he has out
there now. Little things like this make a difference; I know for me
it did when I was a kid. I can remember my Social Studies teacher in
6th grade only because he had models hanging from his ceiling. Great
job Stu! Picture below.
