Available! More Items Added to the Clearance Section!
Hot Babe of the
Week this week is courtesy of your bud and mine, the fantastic Wally
Van Winkle. Some Hawgs for ya from the Michigan ANG. Thanks as
always Wally!
Back in 2005 when the F-14 Tomcat was nearing
it's sunset, we came out with a pretty decent selection of Tomcat
sheets. To say that we were absolutely slammed with orders during
that time would have been an understatement. Fast forward to 2010
and I'm feeling a little de'ja-vu over here in regards to our F-5E
Gomer decal releases.
This last week has been absolutely
ridiculous as far as orders go. I try to wrap my brain around this
and really what it comes down to is a very topical release coupled
with a kit release. We could have gone the easier route and put just
a couple of sets of stencils on each sheet but given the myriad of
specific differences/combinations that these aircraft had, it would
have been quite a challenge balancing the price point/product value
in a way that gave everyone the most bang for the buck.
There
are differences all over the place on these aircraft: Two
different shades of blue on various bort numbers Number of
checkers on the fin flashes Variations in text alignment of the
"Rescue" text for the canopy release stencils Variations in font
of the Danger Ejection triangle markings Thickness of the various
numbers and tail codes of the Nellis aircraft Warning placard
underneath the canopies of all these jets come in four different
iterations/combinations
Take all of the above differences and
then mix them up in the various combinations/iterations from jet to
jet and you can see where things get even muddier! We've been able
to capture all of those differences on not just the Nellis jets but
the Clark jets as well. Alconbury is right around the corner with
the same level and fidelity of detail!
With the low price of
the AFV kit and the hundreds if not thousands of older Monogram F-5E
kits in modelers stashes, you'll be building F-5E's for quite a
while. Why not stock up sheets that give you the option to build
five COMPLETE aircraft per sheet? Two or three years from now,
you'll be banging out more aggressor jets in your build.
Aggressor/adversary subject matter never gets stale, look at all the
other manufacturers that have released decals of the same subject
matter that Twobobs has released in previous years as a data
point.
We also
have reprints in of two of our more popular sheets. Gotta make sure
you guys never run out of missile markings!!
I have
added 20, that's right 20 additional sheets to our Clearance section
of our website. When Teri says we're running out of room, we're
running out of room! Take advantage of some great deals on some of
our older releases.
We are officially under 50 Buckeye kits
left in our inventory for US/Canadian/Mexico customers as of this
last weekend. I filled two sizeable orders for our overseas
distributors and we are down to less than 50. These WILL NOT last
much longer. Get em while you still can!

Some
new images for all of you to see in next weeks newsletter. We'll be
spending the lions share of our time packaging up orders this
week.
