What's New This Week!

Hot Babe of the Week is courtesy of Twobobs. I took these a couple of years back when I was out at Nellis AFB for a Weapons and Tactics (WEPTAC) conference as part of my day job. Pretty topical given the news I have below for all of you. Right Click, Enjoy!

Sorry for the late newsletter today guys. Got home late last night and that coupled with some wireless router problems has me getting this E-mail out later than usual. My apologies.

Not sure what was going on this last week but we were absolutely hammered with orders this last week! Thanks very much for your patronage; all of our orders as of COB Sunday have been mailed out and are on the way to you.

Big news for this week is a project that we started working on a couple of weeks ago that you aggressor fans will be excited to hear about. If you go back probably about 6 months to a year ago, there were rumblings out of the guys at Nellis AFB that there were some new paint schemes that were potentially coming down the pipe for the F-15’s and F-16’s out of the 64th and 65th Aggressor Squadrons. I can count on two hands how many times I heard of “new” paint schemes being socialized while I was in the Air Force. You don’t get too excited about those since it’s always extremely painful and administratively taxing for the USAF to get things like this approved; much harder to do it in the AF than getting CAG schemes approved in the US Navy. I’ll talk to the jets from the 65th Aggressor Squadron below.

About three weeks ago, we were contacted by personnel from the 65th Aggressor Squadron that they were getting very close to having their new proposed scheme approved and that they were going to be able to socialize this scheme to us. The scheme below has been approved by the USAF and the folks at Nellis are now racking and stacking tail numbers, names, etc to start getting these aircraft done.

The inspiration for this scheme comes from the splinter paint scheme worn by the SU-35S. The USAF has labeled this paint scheme “Digital Flanker” and you can see the multiple aspect images below of this scheme.

Sitting here right now, we’re leaning forward as much as we can with our known assumptions as they’ve been communicated to us. There are multiple tail #’s that are being done, they are all getting the same scheme, Wing and Squadron CC jets have not been assigned as of yet and everyone’s fighting to be “the guy” that gets their names on these aircraft. There are also all the unknowns that go into what the scheme looks like on paper vs. what actually gets applied to the jets so we’ll do as much as we can now in regards to artwork and course correct as the 65th AGRS feeds information to us.

Pretty exciting stuff! Very cool scheme and it’ll look great on these jets. Can’t wait to see the finished product and we’ll be all over this in regards to decals in all three scales!

We have also received another shipment of sheet 48-086 which is our AIM-9 and AIM-7 Missile Markings sheets. Sold out of those about a month ago and they are now back in stock. Lots of you have been inquiring about those so here they are at the always low regular price of $10.00. As a reminder, all of our missile markings sheets in all scales are regularly priced at $10.00 each.

Decals In Work!

Starting to work on instruction sheets for the BT Eagle sheet. Gigs and a planespotter from Germany provided us with the last two key pieces, Crew Chief for his shootdown jet and the pilot name for the US/Germany Tri-Centennial jet. I'll add those to the sheet and this guys is finished/done/complete!

Other News......

Just a reminder that both our 72nd and 48th CoNA sheets are still selling extremely fast and we are down to less than 50% stock on these sheets. We will not be reprinting these and are a couple of distributor orders away from being sold out! Get em while you can!

Have a great week guys!
