2008Droppin' the "411" for this week at
Twobobs!
What's
New This Week!
New Hot
Babe of the week is up courtesy of Peter Fey. Some EA-6B pics from
VAQ-209 from back in 2002. Peter, if you're out there, drop me a
line bud! Haven't talked to you in a while! Thanks for the pics.
Big
news this week is that we have 9 new sheets to the printers! One of
the 9 is not a Twobobs traditional release but I will be posting
more news on this guy in the coming weeks. I will say this, it won't
be a sheet that will be for sale and probably won't end up available
anywhere but Ebay. Now that I've got you scratchin' your head...
Wait for it; it'll be a good one!
I have had to bump the
Tiffie and the two Draken sheets until this next release. Some
references dropped on my lap (see below) and I held short on those
to get the sheets below out the door. I PROMISE that I'll have these
Draken and Tiffie sheets out NEXT. If things work out the way I
want, I'll just get these out the door on their own and not way for
a complete 8-up run.
Combo sheets are the hot ticket for all
you 72nd/32nd scale guys and we posted a poll up on ARC to gauge
interest on our next potential Combo Sheet. A-10s are the flavor of
the month this go round. Give us some feedback on our ARC forum if
you're so inclined. Always listening to all of you so your feedback
is appreciated.

OK
so here we go! Nine new sheets at the printers and look for these on
3 Oct 2008.
I have to thank Glen Childress for the reference
help on the three new additions to this run. Something I just
couldn't let slide to next month so I put the Draken/Tiffie sheets
on brief hiatus so I could jump all over these.
Glen had the
luck of the Irish going for him since he was able to get pics of the
new schemes from VMFA-122 literally the day before they were heading
out of country on deployment. VMFA-122 was formerly known as the
Crusaders but due to religious sensitivities, they have changed
their name to the Wolverines. Great looking schemes on all three
jets on this sheet and we got 'em all here in all three scales!
Bonus!!
Glen covered these in fantastic detail. You'll
notice on the insert sheet that the tail art for the CO jet along
with the gray cloud edging is being printed in four-color process.
Lots of finite gradient fill stuff going on there that you just
can't recreate using screen printing.
Something you will
notice is that these sheets have no crew names on them. Although
Glen has provided references to us that show all of this
information, we have been asked by the squadron for OPSEC reasons to
not put either pilot or maintenance crew names on these sheets.
Understood fellas, we will oblige!
Man those Wolverine markings are SWEEEEET!!! Can't wait to
get those in and out to all of you. Thanks a bunch Glen!
