Hot Babe of
the Week continues on with our AFFTC theme from last week. This
go-round we have the NF-16D Vista in 2008 markings. Back in 04/05,
these guys put the GE motor back in their jet and they've been
flying with it ever since.
I've been pulsed
by the Test Pilot School as well as Calspan to put these markings
out again. Some guys on ARC have also asked since they didn't get an
opportunity back in 2001 to get these. We will oblige! Look for
these maybe in about one month. The markings have been refreshed to
show the Calspan/GE/TPS logos along with the current crew names.
Remember, this is a GE motored jet, our markings last time
around were of the PW powered A/C.
October's releases should
be available on the 3rd if my timing is right. Lots of cool stuff in
this batch along with two reprints that have been heavily requested
over the last few months. I didn't think the Viggen sheet had any
legs left on it but there are so many guys out there that request
it, it's kinda mind boggling. The Thud sheet has also been heavily
requested due to the Hobby Boss F-105 now being available.
The VMFA-122 guys got a hold of us the other day to let us
know that we're cleared hot to go ahead and put the crew names on
these sheets. Cool! As long as we don't associate names with
deployed location, we're good! You'll see those along with a couple
of other markings on the insert sheet.

There's things
going on with some of these markings that you just can't do in
screen-print so we've opted for four-color process to make sure we
get em just right. The tail art for the "00" jet is the actual
full-size aircraft image that has been tweaked and resized into a
decal. Noice!!
Thought you guys might get a kick out of this
one. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned in the newsletter that I was
working on a sheet that was going to be a product that was not for
sale. Well here it is!
Pretty cool eh? These won't be for sale but will be
available at the BAE Systems booth (my day job) at the NDIA
UAV/Targets Conference being held in San Antonio in the next couple
of weeks. You'll probably see these pop on Ebay shortly thereafter.
The two aircraft depicted on the sheet are a Block 15ADF and
a Block 25. There is some historical significance to the Block 15
jet, it was the first Block 15 converted to the ADF version back in
the day. One of the guys I work with actually crewed that guy before
it became an ADF. Pretty neat!
Yep, these images mean
exactly what you think they mean, QF-16s are coming... 2012/2013
looks like when this program will be in full swing. There will be a
lot of work for us to do here at BAE between now and then to win
this thing!
