What's New This Week!

Hot Babe of the Week is courtesy of David Horn. David provided us with some absolutely fantastic photographs of the two T-6 CoNA schemes. Pretty indespensible during our sheet creation. These photos along with the assistance received by the US Navy as well as Hawker Beech helped us out in a big way during the artwork creation of the sheet below

Yikes!! 72nd and 32nd "Man Hands/Braille Scale" Sale has turned into quite the event over here! We are getting completely slammed with orders over here and Teri is frantically filling orders as I type this. Big shipment is going out to the US Postal Service tomorrow. All orders received as of today will be in tomorrow's mail.

The inventory has thinned dramatically and we're going to keep the sale going until we can free up some more space in our closet warehouse. Get em while you can guys, stock is running thin on various products, especially in 72nd scale.

One of the benefits of thinning out inventory is that sometimes we come across little nuggets of inventory that we thought we had sold out of. This time around, we came across about 50 or so of sheet 48-149 A-10A Eielson Eagles. One of our more popular sheets that sold out pretty quickly. We found a little stash of them in the warehouse so take advantage guys! The links will stay active until we completely sell out of the remainder of these sheets.

Decals In Work!
I have some preview images for you of our upcoming T-6A/B Texan II sheet. The instruction sheets are complete as well as 99% of the decal sheet. The only thing that I'm still working on is the checker cowling decal on the blue TAW-6 aircraft. I'm trying to strike a delicate balance on this one in regards to ease of application so what you see on the sheet in regards to that specific decal is still a work in progress. I'll finish that up in the coming days.

There are enough decals on this sheet for three complete aircraft; good looking little trainer decals for the great Ibex kit!

The other news I have to pass on is the latest and greatest on the F-15C Digital Flanker markings.

The squadron was waiting on receiving a piece of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) a couple of weeks ago and that was delaying the painting of these aircraft. Well the AGE arrived last week and the first jet has been completed.

Walk-around photos have been provided to Twobobs by the Ops guys and the paint barn stuck to the paint schematic that I had communicated previously.

Sitting here right now, decal sheet is done and so are the instruction sheets. We won't finalize/release the sheet until the jets are "done-done" so we can be sure to get all the Pilot and MX names. While we do know what pilot names are slated for the five jets, we need to be sure we know what names go with what jets before we release the product. Another thing that needs to be solidified is which jet will be the Wing King and Squadron C/O jet etc. More to come on this and we'll course-correct our artwork, jet by jet as the squadron completes them.

Once the markings are complete, I'll go ahead and downsize/upsize the artwork for all three scales. Gonna be a good one!
Other News......
I'm going to leave the text below for a couple of weeks to be sure that it get's the widest dissemination possible.

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS Digital Silk decals are extremely durable and do not easily scratch, and are printed on a continuous, clear film. Each design will need to be cut out individually. Digital Silk decals do not generally need to be clear coated prior to use. Use care when applying as the decal film is extremely thin. Digital Silk decals are tough and durable, but do not like to bend around corners. To get the decals to flex or bend, an easy solution is to soak the decal in VERY HOT water. The HOT WATER softens the ink and allows the decal to conform around tails and over uneven surfaces. DO NOT float the decal off of the paper, as it will fold over itself and become unusable. Rather, soak the decal in very HOT water for about 45 seconds then remove it and allow it to sit for 15 seconds before trying to slide it off of the backing paper. "Normal" decal setting solutions can be used with these decals. We recommend using Microscale's Micro Set (a wetting agent) and Mi cro Sol (a SOLvent), but note the decal solvents only effect the clear film and have LITTLE TO NO effect on the inks. Brush the Micro Set directly on your model before sliding the decal into position. After you slide the decal into position and soak up the excess liquid, apply a thin coat of Micro Sol (the solvent) to soften the clear carrier. It is important to get the Micro Sol under the decal, as the solvent has little effect on the ink, but it will dissolve the clear carrier which allows the decal to dig into the paint. After this coat dries and you are certain the decal is in its final position, apply a second heavier coat of Micro Sol. Another method to try is to use a cloth soaked in HOT water to press the decal into place over rivets, panels lines and other contours. Just a reminder, HEAT is the best option to make the ink bend and conform. After the decals are completely dry, clear coating your model after applying these (or any) decals is a must! I repeat this is a must. The clear coat will seal your decal and prevent it from becoming damaged. Airbrush lacquers only in very light, misting coats. Another method to clear coat the decal is to use Future acrylic floor polish. Good luck and thank you for using Digital Silk decals!

Have a great week guys!
