What's New This Week!

Hot Babe of the Week is courtesy of Dozer and company at VFA-147/USS Ronald Reagan. Dozer's been kind enough to get all the cameras on the boat spooled up to capture these jets as their markings "mature" during their cruise. Some good looking pics have been coming our way the last few months. The Argos sheet along with a couple of other jets are in work as I type this!

Teri and I were able to get our house decorated up yesterday except for the tree; we're waiting for our son and daughter-in-law to roll in before we do that. Hope the rest of you are ahead of the game (or at least keeping up) with all the busy-ness this time of year brings. Did some on-line shopping last night and we're going to spend today getting some other shopping done in town.

The important thing for the rest of you though is that we've loaded the grill and dropped the fry baskets once again! F-15C Eifel Eagle links are active!! We've been receiving orders since Friday evening and this has proven to be a very popular release. Due to the limited print quantity of the 32nd scale sheets (250 each), these have been selling much faster than normal. This is the first time we've printed a product in that limited quantity so we'll see how this goes. All indications are that they won't last long.

With options for 13 different A/C, these Bitburg sheets are proving to be quite the value for all of you.

We've also received a restock of sheet 48-095 AIM-120/AGM-88 Missile Markings. These were sold out for a couple of weeks but are available once again. A reminder that all of our missile marking sheets are Everyday Low Priced at $10.00!

Decals In Work!
The F-5F Double Trouble Bandits sheet is at the printers as I type this and we should have them in hand along with the T-6A Texan II sheet in about 30 days or so. I'll be working on the instructions this coming week and will have some more eye candy for you soon.

On the T-6A Texan II sheet, I worked pretty hard on the checker nose USMC aircraft to come up with something that allowed the modeler to get those white checkers laid down correctly. There are a lot of compound curves on the nose and to put the checkers on a single decal per side would have given you guys fits during your build. What I ended up doing was breaking the decal up into several horizontal "strips" if you will and then I included several individual white squares for the areas underneath the engine cowling. With a little patience and multiple decal application phases, I think this will work out to be the best option.

I've necked down my plans on the Digital Flanker sheets to a couple of options and will post something in next week's newsletter. Thanks for all the inputs guys!
Other News......
The Braille Scale/Sausage Fingers Sale continues and we're still getting slammed over here with orders! Keep em coming!

I'm going to leave the text below for a couple of weeks to be sure that it get's the widest dissemination possible.

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS Digital Silk decals are extremely durable and do not easily scratch, and are printed on a continuous, clear film. Each design will need to be cut out individually. Digital Silk decals do not generally need to be clear coated prior to use. Use care when applying as the decal film is extremely thin. Digital Silk decals are tough and durable, but do not like to bend around corners. To get the decals to flex or bend, an easy solution is to soak the decal in VERY HOT water. The HOT WATER softens the ink and allows the decal to conform around tails and over uneven surfaces. DO NOT float the decal off of the paper, as it will fold over itself and become unusable. Rather, soak the decal in very HOT water for about 45 seconds then remove it and allow it to sit for 15 seconds before trying to slide it off of the backing paper. "Normal" decal setting solutions can be used with these decals. We recommend using Microscale's Micro Set (a wetting agent) and Mi cro Sol (a SOLvent), but note the decal solvents only effect the clear film and have LITTLE TO NO effect on the inks. Brush the Micro Set directly on your model before sliding the decal into position. After you slide the decal into position and soak up the excess liquid, apply a thin coat of Micro Sol (the solvent) to soften the clear carrier. It is important to get the Micro Sol under the decal, as the solvent has little effect on the ink, but it will dissolve the clear carrier which allows the decal to dig into the paint. After this coat dries and you are certain the decal is in its final position, apply a second heavier coat of Micro Sol. Another method to try is to use a cloth soaked in HOT water to press the decal into place over rivets, panels lines and other contours. Just a reminder, HEAT is the best option to make the ink bend and conform. After the decals are completely dry, clear coating your model after applying these (or any) decals is a must! I repeat this is a must. The clear coat will seal your decal and prevent it from becoming damaged. Airbrush lacquers only in very light, misting coats. Another method to clear coat the decal is to use Future acrylic floor polish. Good luck and thank you for using Digital Silk decals!

Have a great week guys!
